TOM O'TOOLE - BEECHWORTH BAKER

Tom O'Toole is a charismatic and inspirational "Baker" of Beechworth Bakery fame. It is not well known that he ran a business in Yarrawonga many years ago. Hear how his attitude towards business changed along life's journey and how he became one of the most successful bakers in Australia. Tom is now an icon in the business community and he has toured the countryside captivating audiences with his inspiring presentation.
The Yarrawonga Mulwala Chamber of Commerce is excited to bring Tom O'Toole to town on Wednesday 21st November 2007 to inspire residents, business people and their employees, school leavers and sportspeople, etc who will greatly benefit to hear an incredible rags to riches story of how an ordinary person can turn failure into success just by having the right attitude.

Welcome to another edition of Chamber Chat. Our membership drive is well underway. Many businesses will have received a visit from Penne Tregenza representing the Yarrawonga Mulwala Chamber of Commerce. Penne is hoping to recruit as many businesses as possible to become members. There are some fantastic initiatives for all businesses to become involved in so please make every effort to pay your membership as soon as possible to take advantage of all the great benefits. It is vital that all businesses support the YMCC so that the goals that have been set can be achieved. If you haven’t received a visit and would like more information please contact us as it is very difficult as a volunteer organisation to get around to all the businesses.

YMCC has managed to secure the services of Tom O’Toole of Beechworth Bakery fame to speak on Wednesday 21st November 2007. As many of you will be aware Tom O’Toole is a great motivational speaker who actually owned a business in Yarrawonga early in his career. This will be a fantastic function so watch out for more information soon.

Planning for the 3 Hour Sale is underway and YMCC have enlisted the services of Karen Mullavey to assist with getting businesses on board for this great promotion. It is all about getting customers to our shopping centre so that we can showcase what is available. But once again everyone needs to be involved.

The Leadership Program delivered by Jason Staggers of Archon Consulting continues and is open to all businesses who are members of the Chamber free of charge. The sessions are held fortnightly at the Back of Burkes with the next one on 12th September at 7:00pm. Even if you haven’t attended all or indeed any of the sessions you will still gain something by coming along.

YMCC meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month with the next one due for Tuesday 18th September at 7:00pm at the Victoria Hotel. All members and prospective members are welcome to attend these meetings.

YMCC would like to thank the Victoria Hotel and Burkes Hotel for their support in providing their premises free of charge for meetings and other functions.

For further information contact President Glen Mitchell on 0418 568 145 or Secretary Pauline Wilson on 5744 2419.
